Reindexing Blocks?

When upgrading the client to 0.8.5 beta I need to reindex the blocks.
Any way around this as they were in the app data roaming Feathercoin folder previously, can you copy and then insert back in once installed?
This is going to be a right pain in the future with so many blocks it will take days every time there is an update to the client.

No, there’s no way around this when doing a straight upgrade.
If you want, once the reindex is complete, you can make a torrent of the re-indexed blockchain and offer that up to people as a way to avoid it. That would allow people to download the torrent instead of doing the reindex, but it’s questionable which one would be faster.
