So it’s where someone assumes control over what goes on within some arbitrary geographic border and then they try and regulate the way people contract with each other. And the aim of the game is to stay in power for the longest period of time?

Once you have persuaded enough people to occupy your land and got them to reproduce you still need a way of extracting wealth from them. Off the top of my head I would suggest stealing their time due to the irreversibility it. If only there was a way we could mine people’s time.

Hey how about you make some paper and tell everyone is has value. Put in some laws with the threat of violence to make them work for it and then just keep printing it and give it to your mates so that nobody can work out the true price of their labour?

Wait, what if they work out that their time is their wealth? I know give them TV and gambling and stuff, let them work 14 hours a day and spend the rest of it like zombies. That will make them forget their lives have any meaning.

It’s funny because just last night I started designing a framework for doing fractional reserve banking with crypto-currencies as a key component in things like the Twitter Tip Bot, and other projects which are quickly looking more accessible and exciting. Wow! So Meta!

The trouble is what happens when that entertainment starts merging with information and people begin learning stuff?

Also I don’t know what you would do if people who were smarter than the rulers (and who had read Plato) started running for Government. You would have to impose regulations on running for government so that only people who shared your beliefs would get elected but still giving the sheeple the illusion of choice.

You don’t ‘lose’ followers on Twitter, you just get a more refined self selected audience over time.
