Over the past 24 hours i have not mined any feathercoins. Before this everything was normal. What could be wrong?

Dont’t know… here everything is running fine. The difficulty is a little be high but nothing blocking mining for 24h… Why don’t you check with your pool? Or are you solo mining?

It could be possible that OP is mining in a pool with very few workers. Those pools take days to solve a single block, especially when you’re unlucky and the actual shares of a block go waaaay above the estimated shares. That’s when things can feel like forever.

The situation is caused by the large jumps in hasrate.

If a multipool hops on to feathercoin, they increase the hashrate in the blockchain by a factor of 300%-500%. This enables them to mine blocks at a rate of about 1 minute instead off the planned 2.5 minutes.

When the difficulty is increasing they hopp off again, leaving the remaining miners with a low hasrate and high difficulty, what leads to the effect, that a block is found only every 5 or even every 7 minutes.

At the same time the decrease of the difficulty takes a lot of time, as a new difficulty is applied every 126 blocks and the maximal possible difference in difficulty is limited.

it takes 3 - 5 cycles to adjust the difficulty to an acceptable level after a multipool left.

            that means: 5 Minutes * 126 * 3 = 1890 Minutes = 31,5 hours (best case)

During that time all remaining miners face a long time to find a block.

            And…

just before the correct difficulty is reached, the multipools come back and the game starts again :(
