G’day guys!

I’m fairly new to the mining scene, I just had a quick question regarding PCI-E risers, can a 1x to 16x riser be used as a 16x to 16x riser? I.e. the 1x side plugs into the 16x slot on my mainboard and then into the card.

My reasoning for doing this is I can’t see to find any 16x to 16x powered risers for a reasonable price.

      I hope this makes sense.

      Cheers,

        According to this:

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#Pinout

the pinouts are the same, soe at least you shouldn’t damage things

            Cheers for the replies.

I’ve ordered the 1x to 16x risers. I will keep you posted on how I go with them.
