With more than 50% of our hash rate at any given time sitting on coinotron, my question is, why is it so popular?

If any of you reading use it I would love to hear why its your pool of choice.

      I have used:

      ftc.theblocksfactory

      ftc.nut2pools

      wemineftc.com

They are all alright, moved away from wemineftc after I lost over a days worth of mining there. You can find me on the blocksfactory pools or nut2 pools these days.

Good in what way? Other than large hashrate I see a pretty crappy front end.

I love it. Brilliant design and functionality.

simple and effective. What more do you need.

Also, Coinotron have been very helpful when dealing with problems.

I like lots of stats, other than some multi pools, every mining pool I run across have been simple to use.

Really depends on pool op if the pool is helpful or not with problems, wemineXXX failed hardcore a few days ago, however, I have had similar issues with other pools and the ops were far better.

My first check is always “Is this pool close to or more than 50% of a network hash rate”, if yes then I don’t use the pool regardless of how good it is. Even if the pool op has good intentions its still a vulnerability for the blockchain, all it would take is one bad actor to grab a hold of coinotron and we would have to resort to ACP.
