To start it off I only recently learned about mining currency’s around two weeks ago, I only want to cpu mine to start before I invest any money into it. My cpu dose on average of 23.5kH/s, I am running linux ubuntu 14.04 on a toshiba satellite it has a core i3 processor I currently have cpuminer 1.2 installed. Questions that I have is what is a good feathercoin mining pool to join as in I have had no success trying to find one on my own they all come back and say failed to connect to the server ect… Any help you can give me on where I should start would be much appreciated.

For a start you can check some working pools link here
The pools are located in different areas of the world and all work well.

There are more pools, but these are the ones I know out of my head.

If you have problems to connect/use the pools,or have questions around minor, place a post in the mining section.

I followed your link and I am not exactly sure where to go from there I clicked on the P2P feathercoin mining network link at the top and made and account there there but this is completely different from how I first stared. If this helps any this is how I installed my cpuminer (hxxp://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2243386) and I was successfully mining bitcoin but with such low hash rates of my pc I didnt feel like it was worth it and wanted to try something else but basically thats where all of my knowledge has came from other then reading on forums but it seems there are so many different options and I have no clue what one is the right one for me. With all that being said the p2p feathercoin mining link I clicked on had me make an account and then something about a repository not very familiarise with this either. I hope that can help you help me.

When you click on one of the server names in the list, you get the servers homepage. The address of the homepage is the address you need to configure in your miner, e.g. http://p2pool.neoscrypt.de:19327
The username is your feathercoin address and use any password,as it doesn’t matter, but must be there.
There is no account registration needed. Payments are sent to the feathercoin address you specify in your ftc walletr.
On the homepage of the p2pool server you should see your miner in the worker list after some minutes.

The link you clicked leads to the development repository for p2pool, where the source codes are stored.

You might check out the NiceHash guide. They also produce windows versions of the mining software…
